Accommodation

We’ve rented out the Lodge at Marconi for the entire weekend. Those who have been invited to stay onsite have received booking instructions. For other guests, we’ve reserved a block of rooms at The Olema House in Olema, CA, just outside of Point Reyes Station. Just mention the Steele - Scheetz wedding when you book your reservation!

There are many other hotel and Airbnb options in the neighboring towns of Point Reyes Station and Inverness. We’ve linked a few below!

Travel

Our wedding is on the east shore of Tomales Bay, in Marshall, CA which is approximately 1 hr north of San Francisco and Oakland and 45 minutes southwest of Santa Rosa. We recommend renting a car, as Marshall is a remote area with limited public transportation or Uber options. If renting a car is going to be tricky for you, please reach out to us directly! FAQs

Dress code: Wedding attire is festive and formal! Dresses for gals, suits for men - but keep in mind we are getting married in the outdoors in Northern California. Festive means lean into bright colors, a little bit of twang, hoot + holler (honoring Jack’s roots ;)) if that feels exciting to you. Gals - consider your footwear. You’ll have to walk on a grassy hill and a little bit of trail to get to our ceremony site.

Transportation: We will have a bus taking folks to and from the Olema House on Saturday. If you are staying at the Olema House or nearby, we recommend taking the bus! We also highly recommend renting a car for the weekend, as Tomales Bay is somewhat remote and there is so much to explore in the surrounding area!

Weather: May is a temperate and dry month in coastal Northern California with highs usually in the mid 60s and lows in the 50s at night. It’s wildflower season, so it will be green and colorful. It will feel very warm in the sun, but once the sun goes down it will be chilly! We recommend bringing adequate layers for ceremony, happy hour and dinner, which will take place outdoors / in the tent. We’ll transition indoors after dinner.

Kids: We encourage those that can leave their kiddos behind only because we would love your full presence. Please speak with us (if you haven't already) if this doesn't feel doable - we are flexible!

Cell phone service: Cell phone service around Tomales Bay is limited. You’ll be able to access Wifi at Marconi or wherever you plan to stay, but something to be aware of when arriving and/or coordinating with others throughout the weekend.

REGISTRY

Y’all are traveling from many corners of the country to celebrate with us, and your radiant selves mean the world to us and is all we ask for. If you'd still like to contribute to our registry or honeymoon funds, please use the link below.

Things to do

There’s tons to explore around Tomales Bay. We’ve listed some of our favorites outdoor adventures as well as eating and drinking zones below. Point Reyes Station is the closest feeling town around Tomales Bay with a quaint downtown strip. All around Tomales Bay you’ll find oyster spots - go to one of these spots to shuck or be served incredible oysters. There are other food options at these places as well. For a more extensive list - especially for those traveling before or after our wedding - check out our Bay Area travel guide HERE.

- Food: Baked goods and coffee at Bovine Bakery & Toby’s Coffee. Sit down for lunch or dinner at Station House Cafe, Side Street Kitchen, Point Reyes Roadhouse or Cafe Reyes. Get buffalo milk ice cream at Palace Market (you must!) There’s also a Farmers Market in town on Saturdays.

- Drink: Old Western Saloon is a divey + vibey bar in town

Point Reyes Station

- Drive out to Point Reyes National Seashore and check out Limantour Beach

- Hike the Tomales Point trail. 8 miles roundtrip - hugs the coast the entire time as you walk through an elk reserve. Would highly recommend!

- Take Highway 1 to Stinson Beach, Bolinas or Bodega Bay

- Rent some kayaks from Blue Waters Kayaking on the west shore of Tomales Bay or enjoy some time at Hearts Desire Beach, Drake Beach or Pebble Beach

- Check out the Cheese Trail
